Wake The Tiger

Website build, e-commerce

The Client

Wake The Tiger is an immersive art experience described as part art gallery, part theme park, and part interactive storytelling adventure. Located in a former industrial space, it invites visitors to step into a surreal, otherworldly environment filled with intricately designed rooms, installations, and interactive elements that spark curiosity and creativity. Each space within Wake The Tiger tells a unique story, blending fantasy, mythology, and cutting-edge art to create a journey through an imagined realm.

The Brief

I was very fortunate to be asked by the creative geniuses at Hey! What? to collaborate with them on a website for Wake The Tiger. Initially the website would serve primarily to promote the attraction, inform visitors about what to expect (while not spoiling any surprises) and provide critical information such as pricing and opening times and crucially, lead visitors towards their ticketing provider to purchase tickets and visit the attraction. Later, we were to implement an e-commerce portal in the form of an online gift shop selling merchandise and gift certificates.

The website needed to reflect Wake The Tiger’s creativity, intrigue and otherworldliness while remaining intuitive and easy to use.

What I Did

Working closely with Hey! What?, I designed and developed a bespoke WordPress website tailored to Wake The Tiger’s unique identity. I created a custom page builder using Advanced Custom Fields, enabling the team to build and manage dynamic, engaging content with ease, including the ability to add embellishments such as animation and decorative elements.

I implemented systems to allows Wake The Tiger’s team to easily maintain critical information such as pricing and opening times, and share timely updates on their latest news and and upcoming events. I also designed lead capture forms for special bookings, such as birthday parties and corporate events.

The e-commerce functionality, built using WooCommerce, enabled Wake The Tiger to take online orders for gift certificates and merchandise.

The Result

The custom WordPress website for Wake The Tiger captures the intrigue and imagination of the attraction, enticing visitors to step into the surreal world it offers. Visitors can effortlessly find critical information, explore stories behind the experience, and purchase merch and gift vouchers—all through a visually engaging and user-friendly interface. When visitors can resist their curiosity no longer, carefully designed calls to action quickly lead them to the ticketing site.
